Prenatal Pilates is a topic that consistently stays popular for women. Pregnancy is a wonderful time in the life of a woman but it often raises a lot of questions and red flags for clients.

  • Is exercises are safe?

  • When should we stop doing Pilates?

  • How late in the pregnancy can a woman start a new movement modality?

  • How can we deal with pregnancy discomforts?

  • And when can a woman safely return to her Pilates practice?

Allison has taken courses from Carolyne AnthonyLeah Stewart and Sarah Duvall. The most recent one is a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. All of those questions can be answered:

  • Is exercises are safe? – as long as you do not have other medical conditions going. In that case you have medical conditions, you need to talk to your doctor before continuing or starting exercise. Our staff is very comfortable working with clients during Pregnancy. We love seeing our clients all the way through Postnatal recovery.

  • When should we stop doing Pilates? You may not need to stop doing Pilates until you deliver then you need to take some time to recover more than most people think. You need to start back to moving with caution and thought.

  • Can a woman start a new movement modality? Sure as long as use caution, keep your heart rate in a reasonable range and listen to your body.

  • How can we deal with pregnancy discomforts? We use exercise, props, stretching, rolling, and other magic we can find inside the studio do what we do to help you walk out feeling better thank when you walked in.

  • And when can a woman safely return to her Pilates practice? When she is cleared to exercise. Then we need to work with on hip stability, mobility, and diastasis recovery. This is all so important to care for her baby and possibly other children safely.
