How can you help?

People have already asked and we are grateful as this is an uncertain time for all small business owners, us included. As with most independent studios across the country, everyone involved in our team, from owners to managers to instructors, will be affected by every week that we remain closed. I want to see that we make it through to the other side of this intact.

People have already asked and we are grateful as this is an uncertain time for all small business owners, us included. As with most independent studios across the country, everyone involved in our team, from owners to managers to instructors, will be affected by every week that we remain closed. I want to see that we make it through to the other side of this intact.

Here are my requests and suggestions:

  1. Reach out to your favorite AP instructor. Schedule a one-on-one personal session with them to be conducted over a video chat, or simply drop them a note of appreciation.  Take there classes subscribe and take their class! They will be paid for their participation in these classes. 
  2. Like and Follow Absolute Pilates and The Studio by Absolute Pilates on Facebook and Instagram, join our studio FB Group, and subscribe to our newsletter (opt in to studio emails). This will build our following so that when this time has passed, we will be feeling connected and stronger than ever. We will also inform you of what you need to do to subscribe to online content through these channels, and we want you to stay in the know! When we launch them, please subscribe. We can’t wait to grow our online presence and reach even more people than ever before.
  3. On behalf of all of us, we would ask that if at all possible, you refrain from pausing your membership during this time. We would appreciate it more than you know. We exist because of all of you, and with your support, we will continue to exist, and will remain here to support you in the future. All apparatus class passes will receive new expiration dates, with extensions equal to the amount of time we are closed. If you are on membership for Apparatus or Private classes email Allison to do a conversion to online classes so you can book. We also have other options for your for sessions so please let me know how I can help.

Tomorrow marks 10 weeks of being COVID-closed, but guess what we are not closed completely!  We are offering outdoor classes… Hello, YELLOW!  Your health and well-being, as well as the health and well-being of our teachers, is our top priority and has guided our decision we’ve made during this difficult time, including our preparation to safely re-open our studio doors. It is going to evolve over time and be fluid. We are going to keep the Livestream classes going well into our reopening.  If you have any questions around the studio reopening please email the studio at Info@AbsolutePilates.com. We are directing all customer service needs there versus text message. Going forward text messages to the studio or teachers should only have to do with immediate class needs otherwise email info@absolutepilates.com and we will respond in a timely manner after we have finished classes for the day. No membership holds, cancelations, or other requests will be processed through our phone, voicemail, or text message. These requests need to be written to info@absolutepilates.com. 

We have updated our waiver as we return to some gatherings of clients again all be it outside. You will need to accept the COVID terms prior to booking your next class even it is a virtual class. One more housekeeping task out of the way.

Virtual Small-Group Training continues we will be keeping this service in place till we do not have a need so this will be into the green phase.

Week 9 Wrap Up

Tomorrow marks 9 weeks of being COVID-closed, but who’s counting? (we for sure of are 😥Thank you to everyone that took the time to answer our reopening survey. Now we are actively talking about how we can reopen. Your health and well-being, as well as the health and well-being of our teachers, is our top priority and has guided our decision we’ve made during this difficult time, including our preparation to safely re-open our studio doors. It is going to evolve over time and be fluid. We will not just be turning the lights on Friday.  Even though we have more sanitization supplies than I ever thought I would buy at one time. It is all a work in progress and we need more progress from Gov Wolf. The first step will be Private training in the future we hope not so distant future when we get the go-ahead to open. There is not a timeline for gyms to open or any metrics that need to be met. Week 8 Wrap Up

This week is a bit heavy on the business requests. We need to collect information from you as we move toward reopening. Harrisburg area is going yellow Friday. The West Shore will be coming soon. We are not a big box gym so we will be opening for private training at some point soon. If you could help us with this information in this survey it would be great. I am working on a plan to keep us all safe!

Introducing Small-Group Training we will be adding some times for people to gather in small groups and train with our instructors in a more personal format. We will have an open dialog, specific corrections and form adjustments. If you are interested in participating please respond to this message! We are trying to bring more of the small group equipment feel to the virtual studio. Class times will be posted in the FB Group and Wellness Living this week. Lynette will be in Monday at 10:30 and Wednesday at 8 am I will be teaching Wednesday at 10:30 am. Lauren will be in at 10:30 Tuesday and Thursday. Donna will be on Friday at 10:30 am. More times with other staff coming. The teachers will be rolling props need and taking requests for classes so we can make this the great hour!

Are you looking for the perfect gift for mom this year? We know EXACTLY what she would love! Some self-care in the form of exercise! We have lots of options that can help reduce her stress!! Many of us have had major changes in our lives, so a fresh new fitness option just be the solution mom needs to reset! I am going to break down specials below good for mom’s, grad’s dad’s alike so got a jump on the holidays.

Week 6 Wrap Up

What day is it? Yeah, we don’t know either.

This quarantine has us all discombobulated, sleeping at weird times, wondering if it’s the weekend, and if it is, what difference that even makes these days. Even those who have regular 9-5 jobs, finds themselves thinking the week both flies and crawls by.

Personally, this quarantine gave me time to do things I am not qualified to do

a. Teach Elementary School. Like all of it. 
b. Teach Elementary School, do random home repairs.
c. Teach Elementary School, do more workouts than usual, and run around the neighborhood to escape the ever-closing walls of my house and my sanity.

I’m opting for C. And honestly, I’m feeling better than I have years. If only I was eating as well I as I could be. More on that later! 

Why? I’m doing a lot of hip stability exercises. Mainly because I’m vain and I’m trying to keep my butt from dragging the floor. We are getting out in the future! 

But those hip stability exercises are also really helping with my running. And share this with all the people that just became runners this is a big part of preventing knee pain for runners.

Balance sucks? Work your hips. Walking sucks? Work your hips. Drooping butt? Hips. Can’t hold a plank? Try working your hips. Kids driving you crazy? Do a hip exercise.

Happy Easter/Passover/Sunday! How are you holding up? Hanging in there? As we all continue to navigate these uncharted waters, we hope you are able to find a balance between productivity, fitness, and relaxation. Our team is working to provide you with content that can help provide a break from the chaos and while reconnecting you with the Absolute Pilates family. 🎉🥳We are so excited to have something to celebrate this week! 🥳🎉 The Studio by AP is celebrating 4 years of serving up some of the best Pilates, barre, and fitness class in Central PA. What a time to have a birthday right? Help us party this month with some fun! Make sure you read all about we have some amazing things going on if you ask me.

Week 3 - if we still know what day it is

It’s been a little longer than three weeks since we’ve been officially COVID-closed, but who’s counting? (we kind of are 😥). We miss you so much, we decided to stay in touch on a weekly basis while we’re “quarantining”. We hope to keep our notes informative and dare we say, entertaining? But first, we have to tell you — we’ve received an overwhelmingly great response from our community about the @home studio — from the bottom of our heart, we want to thank YOU for the support you’ve shown us over the last week. If you have not joined us for a class you should!

We hope that our virtual oasis keeps you moving, helps uplift your spirits and keeps us connected when it’s so easy to feel alone. Plus, these classes are keeping our teachers teaching (which we love to do) while our studio is closed.

When we open the doors to the studio in the coming weeks/months, we have the opportunity to be strong, mentally and physically IF we make the choice each and every day to stay active.  Seize the day and the workout! We hope you join us on this journey as we take back what’s within our control.

Week 2 Wrap up

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Things do not seem to not be on the uptick outside as more PA counties are ordered to shelter in place each and every day. It looks like will we connecting in the virtual world a bit longer. The real test of any movement or exercise is how it improves your everyday life. So, imagine a space where you can make your life better, whatever your age or physical goals. Absolute Pilates @home creates that space – a zone where you can go deep and find ease, then bring it to every corner of your life. See our @home guide below.

1 week in Quarantine Done

We just wanted to send another note to check in on all of you and update you on life in the studio and all the things! We know the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments are on the top of the mind for everyone, but we would like to give you some positive news!
We are so excited to announce a lineup of 25 classes per week streaming live on Absolute Pilates @Home. We are curating a library of these classes plus any other recorded classes we have in a Vimeo library. 

Our goal is simple: to keep thoughtful hearts, strong, flexible bodies, and core and to boost our immune systems.

Covid- 19 Update 3/17

I am sorry for the delay in getting this out members. We thought we had most of this week to make this happen. The state moved faster than we anticipated to shut gyms down. I know we are not a large gym we value you as members and the staff. In an overabundance of caution we closed Monday night at 8pm. I am realizing many of you did not get my email. I am including a lot of it here. You can find that full email just below this update. 

WL is Wellness Living so how you booked classes before is how you will book a class now as an unlimited member. I will be getting this up on Wellness Living asap. The schedule of live classes is here also as on Wellness Living. You will need to book your classes online during this time.

Update 3/16

With Tears in My Eyes I bring you SAD news!

To our beloved studio members,

We are writing on behalf of the team at Absolute Pilates with some tears in our eyes. We consider it our purpose and mission to support your health and wellness. We love to share Pilates and barre with you, and at this critical time, it has become more and more imperative we follow the recommendations of the Governor and the CDC. We are closing at 8pm tonight and will remain closed in physical space only. We wish to care for our entire community.

We intend to offer virtual options so that you can continue to practice while you follow the recommended advice to limit public gatherings.

We wanted to reach out again. We know the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments are on the top of the mind for everyone, and we’ve received questions from many of you. The health and well-being of our community is our absolute priority. In light of recent Coronavirus updates, our team is committed to closely monitoring updates and keeping YOUR health our first priority. We are staying open until we are told not to. In order to do this and keep everyone healthy, we are making some shifts in the studio practice. We are also offering some online options if you’d prefer to do your workout from home. These will be offered in a combination of live streaming classes and a digital library to pull from at your convenience!
